Elderberry Syrup

Elderberry Syrup: A Natural Remedy for Winter Wellness

As a naturopath, I'm always on the lookout for natural remedies that can help keep my clients healthy and happy. One of my favorite winter wellness tips is to use elderberry syrup, a delicious and nutritious way to support the immune system during the cold and flu season.

Elderberries are small, dark berries that are packed with vitamins and antioxidants. They have long been used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of ailments, including colds, flu, and sinus infections. Elderberry syrup is made by boiling elderberries with other natural ingredients, such as honey, ginger, and cinnamon, to create a potent immune-boosting tonic.

Here are some of the top benefits of elderberry syrup:

Boosts the immune system: Elderberry syrup is a powerful immune booster, thanks to its high concentration of antioxidants and vitamins. It can help prevent and treat colds, flu, and other viral infections by strengthening the body's natural defenses.

Reduces inflammation: Elderberry syrup has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation in the body, particularly in the respiratory system. This makes it a great natural remedy for coughs, bronchitis, and other respiratory conditions.

Supports heart health: Elderberries are rich in flavonoids, which are compounds that can help improve heart health. Elderberry syrup can help lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Improves digestion: Elderberry syrup contains ginger and other digestive herbs, which can help improve digestion and reduce bloating and indigestion.

At my naturopathic clinic, I make my own organic elderberry syrup for my family and for my clients. Of course, wherever possible I use locally-sourced, organic ingredients. My recipe is made with love from organic elderberries, local raw honey from my uncle's happy bees, organic raw ginger, organic cinnamon, organic cloves, and filtered water.

Everyone loves it, especially those sweet of tooth so it’s a great option for families with fussy kids.

I will be making up a big batch next week and I’m taking pre-orders now.

And if you're looking for a DIY option, I also offer an elderberry syrup kit that includes all the ingredients you need to make your own batch of elderberry syrup at home.

To order my homemade organic elderberry syrup or elderberry syrup kit, please pop over to the shop section and place your order today. Your immune system will thank you!
